Live aus Berlin, billed to Peter Fox & Cold Steel, is a dazzling live album featuring the Seeed vocalist on tour in support of his solo album debut, Stadtaffe (2008). Shortly after his Australian coach’s departure to Canberra Raiders, Fox’s time at the club was cut short, despite having a year left on his deal.“Morgan got released and then Wakefield came in for me and offered me a three-year deal and you have to look after your family,” Fox added.“I didn’t play some of the games that year and things weren’t going well for the club, but Hull KR were saying to me, this new coach, Sandercock, might not even like you.“That’s what they said to me, they said there’s a three-year deal on the table, I only had a year left with KR, so you may as well take it, so I did.“I had to do what’s right for my family, I was upset, but I was super grateful to go back to Wakefield and under Richard Agar I had some of my best years.“I’m super grateful to Justin Morgan for giving me that opportunity.
! What he gave me was belief in myself, he believed in me and played me every single week, he brought the best out in me and made me feel invincible.”When Fox looks back at his time at the Craven Park, though, it’s a moment at the KCOM Stadium which stands out the most to him: the moment Rovers knocked their cross-city rivals Hull FC out of the play-offs.FC had beaten Rovers twice in 2010 as they jostled for position in the top eight, with Fox being denied a match-saving try in the latter game by Tom Briscoe, but Fox was able to have the last laugh a few months later.“They talk about that moment but that game I probably played the best game in my life in that derby up until that one moment when I should have put the ball in my right hand,” he reminisced.
2,556 I think I scored from a move we set up, we planned the whole move, Scott Murrell kicked it to the corner from a penalty and they weren’t expecting it.“That’s the same year I had that blond hair.
Rovers haven’t hit such heights since that moment, in fact, just once have they reached the play-offs since 2011, which proved to be Fox’s final year with the club.By then, he had scored 56 tries in 105 appearances under Morgan.York-born Fox immersed himself in the culture of Hull KR after joining from Wakefield, moving to the area and involving himself with the club’s fanbase, something he believes helped him settle in seamlessly.
