In the end, as I said, Extraction won't be winning any awards and it definitely doesn't hold back in the body count area, so if that's not your thing, it may not be for you.
As I kept watching, something didn't quite feel right, and then it came to me.
I feel that Joe Russo could write a few more films that are heavy on the action because it seemed to work here. Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. For myself, I like a good action movie with likeable characters and this movie delivered on that for me.

This movie doesn't work from a tone standpoint.
There are a few humorous lines to break the tension and a couple heartfelt interactions that gave the film time to breathe.
Being recruited to track down and extract a kidnapped teenager, who's father is in prison, this mission becomes his most difficult one yet. Now, even though there is some care put into the emotional moments, Extraction is all about the action. Directed by stuntman Sam Hargrave, who has done many of the stunts for the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, pulls no punches in dropping you right into the action. Six untraceable agents, totally off the grid. | Rating: 4/5

Extraction made me laugh and cry. Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is the brain and the brawn of this story and if he doesn't work as a character, the entire film would fall apart. The movie is hilariously predictable.
When two Boston police officers are murdered, ex-cop Spenser teams up with his no-nonsense roommate, Hawk, to take down criminals. There's even an emotional payoff at the film's end.
