Was this review helpful? Mary is one of those films that sets sail but has no real sense of direction. The movie does deliver decent jump scares but its over reliance on this technique shows that it is not a scary story at all. A hospital psychiatrist's own sanity is pushed to the edge when a frightened amnesiac patient insists that he has died and brought something terrible back from the other side. Suivre son activité If you have a great story, many of the other elements of a movie can be rubbish, and as long as they aren't completely unforgivable, the movie will still be okay. So....good/decent acting....well shot....good creepy music....and it was entertaining. It has been done better loads of times before and has very little originality. A hunter gets bitten by a vampire and runs into a shed to avoid sunlight. L'espace commentaire ne ment pas, c'est mauvais, mal réalisé, les screamers font vraiment cheap, la famille se balade sur le bateau sans jamais se croiser quand ca arrange le scénario, on en vient a se demander si c'est un voilier de 15m ou un immense yacht.. Du coup pour rendre crédible ce manque de logique, le réal est obligé de constamment filmer très serré, le tout dans le noir sur un bateau qui tangue, c'est imbuvable... I am a horror movie fanatic. Plutôt bien filmé et profitant d'une distribution de choix, on se laisse facilement prendre dans l'intrigue. I watched this because of you. I do not know what some of these armchair reviewers were looking for.

If you are expecting a tense psychological horror on par with The Shallows, you will be sorely disappointed. It takes place out in the water....family on a boat that's haunted.
Not a spoiler since it hits you in the 1st 2 minutes of the film: They start out with the "after it happened" thing with Emily Mortimer on shore after the "tragedy at sea" and being interrogated by the FBI.
The movie is boring and takes too long building up the characters and story. They claim there are no scares.

Cool boat.
But if you want to see people screaming at the jump scares, you would probably enjoy it.
